Electromagnetic status indicators
This family of display products utilizes Flip-Disk Technology. These indicators are available in the three sizes and in several disk types. The light reflective material is available in fluorescent colors including white, yellow, green, red, and orange. The reverse side of the disk is usually black but it may be any of the colors.
APPLICATIONS:
These indicators have proven themselves over the years to be unmatched for visibility, reliability, and low cost performance. Status indicators are electromagnetic devices which can be used to signalize binary states. They can be used in industrial devices allowing to show errors, failures or other diagnostic states.
Indicators are ideal for “latching” applications such as transient recorders, industrial process displays, contact status indicators, and portable field equipment. Larger arrays are suited to vehicle destination signs and continuous matrix displays. The latter may utilize a combination of specific indicators with flip-disk “strips” (refer to the “X-Y strips” data sheet for details).
FEATURES:
The light-reflecting, rotating fluorescent disk provides excellent visibility in most ambient light conditions. Magnetic memory retains the indicator's status through shock, vibration or power failure making them ideal for mobile applications. They are especially suitable to show reasons of failures of electric devices because thanks to their unique magnetic memory they keep their state practically forever. They allow to show information about device state from a while before failure, long after the failure.
Minimal power consumption means low operating costs. The data on multiple indicators can be quickly changed using only a few watts of total power during the brief process. The disk is the only moving part and is rated at 100 million operations. These indicators are extremely rugged and ideal for use in applications over a wide range of environmental conditions.
We offer three main types of status indicators:
- AZ30NR - round disks 0.30" in dimeter.
- AZ36NR - round disks 0.35" in diameter
- AZ54NR - round disks 0.53" in dimater
